Interfaces in this category will allow you to attach your switch based controls (Arcade Pushbuttons, Microswitch-based Joysticks, etc.) to your PC using the USB ports. These interfaces output Joystick Axis data, as well as "button" press data. They will show up in your "Gaming Options" dialog box and can be used with any game or application that can read a joystick or gamepad.
A special interface in this group will also allow unprecedented flexibility of operation with a 49-way joystick, allowing it take the place of a number of different joystick types and can be electronically switched between these different types.
Unlike USB Keyboard Interface technology, USB Gamepad interfaces have no limits on simultaneous button presses. They are also faster, capable of delivering the status of all 32 inputs every 10ms. They are easy to install, and multiple units may be used at the same time with no conflicts.
They are great for scalable or modular installations and can also send keypress data with the aid of excellent, easy-to-use third-party freeware applications.
