Note: This item is not currently compatible with the latest version of the Electric ICE-T Trackball, or Groovy-TB Trackball. Please use the standard 3" Trackball Mounting kit, or traditional "flush mount" methods for these items.

This kit will allow you to do a professional looking, true "High-Ball" installation using a standard 3" Imperial trackball in a ~3/4" wood panel. Other panel thicknesses can use the same method, but some user improvisation will be necessary in that case.

The method is very forgiving and requires only rudimentary woodworking and power tool safety skills. The instructions are intentionally very detailed and include 23 images to help guide along the way.

Kit Contents:

1 – Trackball Finishing Plate (Choice of color / material)
1 – Laser Cut Cardstock Template
1 – Threaded Insert Installation Wrench
4 – Threaded Inserts
4 – Trackball Mounting Screws
1 – 7 Page, Fully Illustrated Instruction booklet

Required Tools (Not Included):

Pen or Pencil and Permanent Marker
Plunge Router w/ suitable straight bit
Drill with 1/16” and 5/16” Bits
Phillips Screwdriver
Clamps or other suitable means for securing panel for routing
Ruler, Yardstick or some other measuring straightedge

A note about colored acrylic:

If your trackball is illuminated and you will be free-hand routing the center hole for the trackball, it is recommended that you chose a finishing plate color that will block the light color of the ball to hide irregular edges in your panel.

Acrylic plastic will illuminate when a color compatible light is present behind it. There is a "filtering" effect which will allow certain colors of light to pass, based on the color of the plastic. A Black plate is safest in this regard and is recommended for RGB operation. However, if you will be using a large hole-saw or a circle jig to make a clean hole and want the plate to illuminate, you can choose whichever combination you find most appealing.
