And if you want to see the pulsing and color-changing effects possible when used with an
LED-Wiz, just download the video
HERE.
Note: the top part of the case was removed for this video to
demonstrate just how powerfully the ball is illuminated by the
RGB-OverDrive™ Trackball Lighting Unit.
Update: This video was made using a Version 1 ball, but is still indicative of lighting quality.
Features:- Custom-made
3" Electric Ice™ Ball. Unlike other translucent trackballs the material captures the light instead of acting like a lens. The ball is highly polished. Perfect diffusion of the light and the exact same size and weight
as the stock white ball that is normally used. Ultra-high scratch
resistance and excellent tracking make this the best illuminated
trackball money can buy...bar none.
- Special
Opti-Wiz™ based board. USB HID operation, with integrated Zero-BackSpin™ Technology, allows for perfect functionality on any USB capable system, and is not limited to only USB 2.0 based systems like some other trackball controls. Just plug and play! Interface is also PS/2 compatible and has connection points for 3 mouse buttons.
- Illuminated by the RGB-OverDrive™ lighting unit with a retina-searing light output capability of up to 12 Super-Bright LEDs. (We aren't kidding, don't look straight into this when it's on!)
- Enhanced
Performance is made possible by a special version of the Trackball Booster™ Kit, which has been pre-installed.
Provides 2.5x the resolution of other trackballs.
- LED-Wiz™
compatible lighting. Uses only 3 outputs to provide pulsing and color
changing effects. Can also be hardwired to 5v and manually configured
for color.
- Chrome-plated steel rollers and sealed ball bearing construction. "High-Lip" plastic enclosure. Spacer plate included.
A
trackball unit like this one with all of the enhancements purchased
separately would cost over $137.00 and you would still have to put all
the pieces together yourself. We are offering this unit, fully
assembled and ready to install, for
only $116.95For
those looking to upgrade their current trackball to only the
lighting
capabilities of the Electric ICE-T™, a
kit is also offered for only $36.95.
It includes the RGB-Overdrive™ Trackball Lighting module,
instructions, mounting hardware and choice of either 3" or 2.25"
Electric ICE ball.
Wiring the RGB OverDrive™ lighting module:
There are 4 wires
connected to the lighting module. The one marked with red is to be
connected to a 5v DC power source. The other wires, in order following
the 5v wire are Blue, Green and Red control lines. If you own an
LED-Wiz™, these would be connected to 3 outputs of your choosing.
Otherwise, to hard wire a specific color, just attach the desired
colors control line to ground. This can be done in any combination you
desire to achieve one of 7 colors, or small resistors can be added in
series to create any color desired.
Additional Notes:See
this page
for information and simple 3rd party software for setting higher poll
rates which can help to achieve the highest possible accuracy on
operating systems which do not properly honor USB hardware poll rate
requests.
