When selecting the device number for this product, it must be different from any existing LED-Wiz devices on the system. This was necessary in order to provide compatibility with all existing LED-Wiz software.
Introducing the LED-Wiz+GP
™, the only I/O
it's kind. The LED-Wiz+GP is a true 16-Output LED-Wiz™ with all of the
same special built-in lighting effects, coupled with a
high-performance, 16-Input Gamepad-style arcade controls interface!
For the first time, a single controller board provides a simple way to
control relays, RGB and High-Output LEDS, etc., while also allowing for
up to 16 switch based controls, including Joysticks, Pushbuttons and
more. The output side of the LED-Wiz+GP™ is a fully featured LED lighting and output logic
controller capable of delivering up to 500ma per output at 5v DC.
Programming tools are available for integration into your custom
- LED-Wiz™ Compatible. Current LED-Wiz compatible software and programming tools may be used without modification (outputs 17 to 32 on each board are ignored)
uniquely controllable outputs and up to 240 Hi-Output LEDs per board
(15+ per output, external power source required for this type of
operation. Short duty cycles and not simultaneously active. See documentation for more details.)
- 48 levels of PWM intensity. Using RGB LEDs (common anode), theoretically 110,592 colors are possible.
- Smooth, Hardware Pulse FX. Each
individual output can be set to one of the following hardware modes.
These modes are set by the computer, and after that the hardware
handles them autonomously.
.....Sawtooth (gradual up and gradual down)
.....SawDown (full on, gradual down)
.....SawUp (gradual up, full on)
Hardware pulse rates are controlled by a 7-level global speed setting.
- Up to 16 boards may be used per system.
(Device ID numbers must be unique for each LED-Wiz or LED-Wiz+GP unit on a system)
- No Additional Drivers. Each board is identified as an HID Game Controller with one set of X and Y Axes (Joystick directions) and 12 buttons.
- High Performance Inputs.The
state of all inputs are reported up to 125 times per second, with no
limitation on the number of simultaneous button presses.
- Easy to use Screw-Terminal board connections.
- Common GROUND Input wiring method. Only one input wire and a shared ground line to each switch.
- USB port communication and power.
- Includes mounting hardware and 6' USB cable.
Pre-Installed Driver Heatsinks (Optional):
This is highly recommended for applications which might push the limits of the driver chips power handling capabilities. (Important note: Don't try this at home!) We torture-tested a single
driver chip with one of these heatsinks installed, by connecting 80 of our 5-LED Nova-Matrix LINX2
modules to it, which is a total of 400
LEDs. The LED-Wiz was set to full on (no PWM) and left for 8 hours. At the end of the test, the heatsink was hot to the touch, but the driver chip was still fully functional. This was purely a test of thermal transfer and adhesion of the heatsinks, as well as the durability of the driver under very extreme duress. Even with the heatsinks installed, the LED-Wiz+GP must never be subjected to these extremes
. We are, however, confident that applications which might otherwise damage the drivers through excessive heat, will benefit greatly from this option.
Resident control, animation and keyboard LED emulation software is currently in public beta and available for download

The free ActiveX control from
IDVT Inc. now supports up to 16 LED-Wiz devices and is available upon
request. Can be used in any language that supports ActiveX controls.
