KeyWiz40-Eco
[KW40ECO01]

$25.95

I bought this simply because I'm frugal. Competitive alternatives were just too pricey for the features. The 40+32 inputs are more than enough for most two player uses. I got the PS2 solderless version for my needs. I had plenty of hard drive cables to use to interface it with a JAMMA fingerboard. Granted, I still had to solder the open end of my HD cable to the JAMMA fingerboard. But I didn't need to solder both ends. I can use the KeyWiz on another project by simply disconnecting it.

I was impressed with the ease of getting things wired up. It worked flawlessly the first time I put it in service. On my PC, it even works simultaneously with a standard USB keyboard. I only used basic two-player connections for joystick and three buttons each. I didn't try the programmable codesets or the Shazaam function yet.

You still can't beat the price for the functionality. I didn't experience any strange operation of the device. It always responded as expected, and with a lot of action going on between both players.

In the future, I plan on using one of these for a Car PC project that's based on a menu system. It'll eliminate the need to buy an expensive touchscreen or figure out a way to mount a keyboard in the car.
